Limitation
Generally all claims for personal injury must be issued at court within three years from the date of the accident or the injury becomes known. This is two years for most accidents abroad and CICA claims (see below).
If the case involves a child, they have until reaching the age of 21 in order to issue a claim.

‘No win, no fee’
The vast majority of personal claims are funded under Conditional Fee Agreements (CFA) which are a form of ‘no win, no fee’ agreement. The advantage of a CFA is that if we act for you in an unsuccessful claim you do not have to pay us anything (unless limited exceptions apply).

Legal Expenses Cover
On some occasions, people will have the benefit of legal expenses cover or Before the Event Insurance (BTE). This often has the benefit of both covering your legal expenses and any adverse costs or disbursements if you were to lose your case.
We will undertake enquiries for the existence of legal expenses cover before to starting a claim.
Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) claims are for those who have been unfortunate enough to have suffered an injury as the victim of violent crime.
Legal costs are not recoverable in CICA claims; therefore we can assist in these claims under a Damages Based Agreement (DBA) where we deduct up to 25% of the compensation upon conclusion of a successful claim. You do not need to pay us anything if you lose.
